Before the Message – January 22 & 23

This weekend at Orchard Hill we will return to our study of Mark.

We have called this study, The Mission of God, because we learn in the Mark about Jesus mission or bringing God’s Kingdom. We only now see glimpses of the things as they should be.  But those glimpses are pointers to what will be and to the Kingdom of God.

In Mark 9:2-29 we read about the Transfiguration of Jesus, which is a somewhat difficult story to understand and apply. The content itself is not hard to understand, but the significance is not readily clear. In my years of being around church, I don’t think I have ever heard a message on this or read a commentary that made me feel like I really understood it. So, you may think, this weekend should be compelling. Ha! I get that. My hope is that you will be able to see how getting a glimpse of God’s glory can help your perspective in life.

We will explore how we can see God’s glory and how seeing it, we can be changed.
